Air transport industry
Article Abstract:
The Air Transport Industry's profits for 1996 will reach record levels, and the industry should also enjoy an excellent 1997. Increasing traffic, extensive cost cutting, and higher ticket prices are contributing to this excellent performance. The industry could achieve higher earnings in the the three- to five-year time frame, but overcapacity could result if airlines order too many new aircraft.
