Air transport industry
Article Abstract:
Stocks in the air transport industry are continuing to do well, although profits for 1999 were not as high as many observers expected. Airline alliances are becoming more important with the increase of international travel, but rising fuel costs, along with weak Pacific and Latin American markets, could be a problem. These stocks are not timely for the year 2000 and investors should expect a great deal of volatility.

Air transport industry
Article Abstract:
Analysts predict continued growth for the air transport industry, and the stocks are considered timely. Factors affecting the industry include the economic downturn in Asia and increased competition in South America. More airlines are expected to sign cooperative agreements as international travel increases. Capacity has increased only slightly, but there is resistance to higher fares.
