Times are tough for BHP chairman Jerry Ellis. Corporate projects have caused trouble and BHP's share price has fallen dramatically. Furthermore, Ellis has faced the embarrassment of selling his own company's shares. Though the sales have not been voluntary, they have afforded him millions in profit. Company spokesmen have explained that Ellis' sales are required under law and BHP's rules.
