Insurance (diversified)
Article Abstract:
Insurance industry stock prices have risen during the first half of 1999 with the low interest rates in the US economy, but since earnings may decline in the future investors may want to take profits. Investors need to not only take interest rates into account when evaluating insurance stocks, but to also consider risk management, cash flow, earnings, and the book value growth of the company. There are fewer timely stocks in this industry in 1999, as most are fairly priced, and investors need to be selective in their commitments.
