The Asian financial crisis has caused the delay of several large floats, as those that launched just before the market turmoil face huge shortfalls. Pasminco may see a shortfall of 100%. Both Downer Group and Galileo have postponed their floats, which were pegged at A$208 million and A$95 million respectively. Economist Group may be driven out of business due to refunded applications.
