Book magic
Article Abstract:
The Australian book retailing chains faced many problems since 2000 like the introduction of the GST in July 2000, the formidable overseas competitor, Borders Books, and a strong push among the big discount retailers, Big W, target and K mart, to rob the book chains of market share. The solution to these problems was achieved after three years, when books like Harry Potter and Lord of the rings were launched in to the Australian market.
