Bottleneck blues
Article Abstract:
Coal miners in Australia are currently facing two crises. Firstly, though the coal prices have increased tremendously providing opportunity for coal miners to cash on the situation, the lack of port capacity at key coal terminals such as the Dalrymple Bay and Gladstone in Queensland has disappointed the miners. Secondly, the industry is facing an acute skill shortage of qualified workers, which also is hindering the miners from moving ahead with their intended plans.
