Budget reconciliation bills pass House, Senate; entitlements slated for largest cuts
Article Abstract:
The Senate and the House passed different versions of the FY 1996 federal budget in late Oct 1995, and the final bill will be drawn up in the reconciliation process. Both versions called for $270 billion in Medicare cuts. Pres Clinton has vowed to veto the final bill.
