Canadian energy industry
Article Abstract:
The inability of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to manage oil production, the settlement with Iraq, and lowered heating oil demand have made 1998 a difficult year for the Canadian energy industry. However, prices for natural gas have remained firm and are also expected to increase by the end of the year. These stocks are not timely for late 1998 and early 1999, but several have appeal for conservative investors.

Canadian energy industry
Article Abstract:
The lack of production coordination by OPEC members, the settlement with Iraq, and the mild winter of 1998 have combined to decrease prices for the Canadian energy industry. However, refiners are expected to have another good year in 1998 and natural gas pipelines will also benefit from the improving natural gas markets. Investors need to be patient with these stocks, although several have good prospects for the years 2001-2003.
