Canadian energy industry
Article Abstract:
The Canadian energy industry was prosperous in Jan 1997 and Feb 1997 with higher prices for oil and high spot prices for natural gas, and earnings and cash flows were good for the 1st qtr of 1997. However, prices have fallen with milder weather and weakened demand. Industry economic conditions are favorable for the rest of 1997, but pipe line rates have been lowered. The best investments in this industry appear to be integrated oil producers.

Canadian energy industry
Article Abstract:
Oil prices have been strong in the Canadian energy industry during 1996. However, active drilling and market overreaction may not keep market basics as strong in 1997. Although natural gas prices are not as high in 1996 as in the past, they have remained solid and are slowly improving, and the supply of Canadian natural gas is expected to decline with additional pipelines. Several of these stocks are good investments for 1999 to 2001.
