Coles Myer and Woolworths group, the food and liquor business giants are vying to expand their respective market shares in Australia. Coles has recently entered into a contract with Shell for marketing its products at the petrol pumps which venture is being touted as a profitable one. However, the discount being offered by the food and liquor division of Coles to these stores almost negates the profit.

National Roads and Motorists' Association Limited (NRMA) plans to open a new insurance business, which could be a significant threat to Insurance Australia Group (IAG) and the rest of the insurance sector in Australia. But the biggest threat to the sector is the potential for NRMA to slash insurance premiums.
