Count may be considering float

Count Wealth Accountants is considering a partial float in May 2000. The valuation of Count is not clear, but it had $25 million in revenues and an income of $3 million in 1997-98. In New Zealand, public accountants are scare and well paid, ranging from $NZ34,000 for college graduates to $NZ95,000 for a tax consulting manager with more than three year's experience. Solution 6 Holdings Ltd. is testing its system for renting its software over the Internet. The hourly fees of the upper-third of accounting firms and the lower two-thirds differ by only 10%.

Boutique recruits firms for float
Article Abstract:
Stockford Australia is gathering a portfolio of accounting firms and other business-service companies to be floated in 2000 for an initial capitalization of about $20 million. Members will be paid in scrip from the proceeds of the float, which will be managed by Mindshop's Alan Walker. Walker's initial goal will be to help lift the members' earning rate. Meanwhile, National Sterling Financial Management is seeking to acquire a firm.

New office, more sales staff as Solace continues its expansion

Solace is an Australian producer of banking software. Its program for national expansion in July 1998 has resulted in a new office in Sydney and more employees. Solace has an outsourcing contract with Sun Microsystems, a joint venture in Africa, and an office in Kuala Lumpur. It plans to pursue further opportunities through business alliances.
