Credit markets poised to benefit from change
Article Abstract:
Australia's corporate bond market is expected to expand rapidly in 1999 and 2000, partly because of low interest rates and a favorable change in the interest-withholding tax. Australian companies will be able to issue Eurobonds and sell them to domestic investors. The bond market should grow to about $40 billion, relatively small compared to the $500-billion equity market.
