Cruising inside World Wide Web with a browser
Article Abstract:
Users who spend a lot of time with on-line bulletin boards such as the World Wide Web should consider using a browser, a navigational software tool that makes using the Web easier and faster. There are a variety of Web browsers and each should be judged based on its ease of installation and use, navigational options for addresses, reliability and how fast the software displays graphics and text. The most well-known browser is called Mosaic, which was developed at the University of Illinois but has now been surpassed by commercial versions. Spyglass Inc produces a version of Mosaic that is fast and includes some good features. Mosaic's competition is called Netscape Navigator and is produced by a company called Netscape Communications. Netscape's speed and reliability is making the software more popular than Mosaic, and surveys show that it has captured as much as 60% of the browser market.

As Cheyenne fends off bid a war of words escalates
Article Abstract:
McAfee Associates' attempted hostile takeover of Cheyenne Software is actively resisted by the latter, as Cheyenne officials claim that the proposal is aimed at exploiting the company's recent drop in stock prices. The attempt has also generated expressions of ill-will between the two companies' chief executives, and there is little realistic chance that the companies could successfully work together as they are presently structured. Some analysts suggest that Cheyenne would simply rather be acquired by a company that would offer more resources, and IBM, Computer Associates, Legent and Symantec are all rumored to be interested in acquiring Cheyenne.
