Article Abstract:
As telephones become increasingly sophisticated in what they can do, the look of them is changing as well. An Image Phone, which is worn like glasses, lets the user view images and documents while conversing. The Window Phone lets users decide what level of privacy they want when on the telephone, unlike a video phone. The Smart Card Phone is a wallet-sized casing with a receiver, transmitter and cards to customize the telephone's functions in it. Users will use voice activated command in conjunction with the cards for automatic dialing and entry through security systems. Communicator gloves are worn on the hand with the microphone and speaker on the thumb and the fourth finger. The transmitter is fastened with Velcro into the glove's cuff. Personal Action Devices are pocket-sized screens and wands that transmit on microwave bandwidths, activated by touch sensitivity. These can be linked to a computer for information access.
