'Discovery' launches two satellites

The space shuttle 'Discovery,' which began its mission on Sep 12, 1993, launched two satellites and equipment to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. The crew released the Advanced Communications Technology Satellite and the Orbiting Retrievable Far and Extreme Ultraviolet Spectrometer.

Endeavour retrieves European probe

The 'Endeavour' space shuttle retrieved the European Retrievable Carrier satellite on Jun 24, 1993, and conducted scientific experiments during its mission on Jun 21-Jul 1, 1993. The Spacehab laboratory made its first flight aboard the space shuttle.
