Do you have a productivity disease?
Article Abstract:
Various methods for becoming more productive as a managerial accountant are discussed, with respect to career advancement and self-motivation. Five methods for improving one's own productivity are: (1) staggered scheduling of the work to be accomplished; (2) delegating less important tasks to subordinates; (3) developing innovative ways to make time-wasting activities advantageous; (4) eliminating work interruptions, and (5) avoiding perfectionist tendencies. Also discussed are four attitudes that are counterproductive: (1) hemicerebralitis, or working with half a brain (allowing thoughts about unrelated activities to interfere with work); (2) brown outs, which are nearly the same as burn outs; (3) task myopia, or an inability to plan over the long range; and (4) the Wonder Woman or Superman syndrome, described as inability to refuse more work.

From academia to corporate: education link benefits interns, firms, and managers
Article Abstract:
The vital link between managerial accountants in the corporate world and accounting students in colleges and universities can be fostered in two relatively simple ways. One way would be to encourage the creation of accounting internships for college students, thereby giving them the valuable opportunity to observe how the accounting concepts they study are applied in the corporate world. The other way would be to encourage practicing managerial accountants to accept part-time teaching positions at colleges and universities that offer accountancy courses.
