The lower house of the parliament in Poland voted on Aug 4, 1992, to pass a constitutional amendment to allow economic policy to be implemented by decree. Premier Hanna Suchocka and a 23-member cabinet were approved in Jul 1992.

Finance minister quits in policy dispute

Polish Finance Minister Karol Lutkowski resigned his post Feb 17, 1992, citing critical differences on economic policy with other Polish economic decision makers. Lutkowski had held the position for less than two months.

Polish Premier Olszewski ousted by parliament

The lower house of Poland's parliament named Waldemar Pawlak to replace Jan Olszewski as premier. Olszewski was ousted June 5, 1992, following distribution of a controversial list of alleged Communist collaborators.
