Electrical equipment industry
Article Abstract:
Top line advances have been difficult for the electrical equipment industry during the 1st qtr of 1999 due to sluggish demand caused by the poor Asian economy, the Brazilian devaluation, and other problems. Companies in the industry are cutting costs and engaging in selective acquisitions in order to increase profit growth, however, and this trend is continuing. These stocks are not timely in 1999 and investors should concentrate on those with the best potential for the next three to five years.

Article Abstract:
Stocks in the electric equipment industry have increased in timeliness in the first half of 1999 after a long period of underperforming the market.
