Environmental industry
Article Abstract:
Internal revenue growth for the environmental industry remains lackluster in 1999 as industry consolidation, including efforts to integrate services, is the major concern of these companies. The hazardous-waste segment of the industry has become an important sector, but internal growth in the landfill operation and waste hauling area has seen only modest growth in the 1990s. Highly-leveraged balance sheets and price volatility make these stocks best suited for speculative investors, although several have good price potential for the next three to five years.
