Europe waits nervously for euro era
Article Abstract:
Many people and businesses are nervous about the adoption of the European common currency on January 1, 1999. When the 11 nations begin using the euro, it may do very well and begin to challenge the American dollar. However, Asian and Russian economic problems may trouble the global market so much that the euro will be a disaster. Great Britain is especially worried about its position as it hesitates to adopt the single currency.
