Expected waiting time for nonsymmetric cyclic queueing systems - exact results and applications
Article Abstract:
Cyclic queueing systems have been applied to stochastic multi-production production systems. Cyclic queueing systems consist of n nodes. Each node in the system has a discrete stream of inputs and the system experiences a random delay after the servicing of a node is finished before beginning to service the next node. Depending upon the node, researchers can calculate arrival rate, service rate, and delay. Cyclic queue models allow for the calculation of the response time of the expected waiting time of nonsymmetric cyclic server queueing systems characterized by arbitrary switch-over and service times and Poisson traffic.

A variable buffer-size model and its use in analyzing closed queueing networks with blocking
Article Abstract:
A model is presented that allows for effective analysis of some types of closed queueing networks facing blocking as a result of limited buffer space. The networks examined are networks for which the limited buffers occur together in subnetworks. Another new model, having variable buffer size, is has been made available as a conceptual tool used to model a tandem network segment having blocking, with the use only of product-form submodels.

A Numerical Method to Obtain the Equilibrium Results for the Multiple Finite Source Priority Queueing Model
Article Abstract:
A numerical method is presented for obtaining the mean equilibrium results of the performance measures for the multiple finite source queueing model. The model has a single server and a nonpreemptive fixed priority service descipline. An arbitrary service time distribution function is used. An embedded Markov Chain and the renewal reward theorem to find the proportion of time the server is with customers is in the model.
