FDA is putting the squeeze on makers of fresh juice

The Food and Drug Administration has ruled that fresh-squeezed juice will now have to carry a warning label. The new warning label reads: Warning. This product has not been pasteurized and therfore may contain harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness in children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems. The fresh juice industry has voiced it's concerns as to the deleterious effects such labels will have on the sale of fresh prodcts.

Founders deny dual records at Livent Inc
Article Abstract:
Garth Drabinsky and Myron Gottlieb, the co-founders of Livent Inc., were suspended from their positions as an investigation into the firm's accounting irregularities broadened. Both men denied that Livent kept a second set of financial records in an attempt to hide losses. A group of investors that took control of the company in April 1998 suspended Mr. Drabinksy and Mr. Gottlieb.
