Playcore, planning to expand with help of purchases, sees double-digit growth
Article Abstract:
Playcore Inc.'s CEO Frederic Contino spent over 12 years at Newell Co., the housewares company planning to acquire Rubbermaid. He wants to take Playcore of Janesville, Wis., into a high-growth, lean and profitable stratum with acquisitions, cost-cutting and good management much the way Newell does it. Playcore makes outdoor playground equipment. So far it has acquired GameTime of Alabama, and Pentes Play of North Carolina. Pentes is an indoor equipment maker which should help the company be a little less seasonal in its sales and profits.
