FoodConnect Australia will offer the food industry a convenient way to obtain exporting information. The online service, which will be launched commercially later in 1999, already has 1500 member companies. The service consists of an online catalog that lists information such as e-mail addresses and food companies' products. There are already 10,500 products listed at the web site.

Foster's takes a loss on Wine Planet
Article Abstract:
The closure of online wine site Wine Planet by Foster's Group is discussed. This business made a net loss of A$7.3 million on sales revenue of A$8.87 million in the six months to Dec 31, 2000, but was the third most popular wine site in Australia, attracting 23,100 unique visits in Apr 2001.
