Forecasting process at Apple Computer
Article Abstract:
Apple Computer Inc. has had to change its forecasting strategy to make it flexible for regional applications and responsive to changing demands. The previous strategy used statistical models based on past activities to predict accurate numbers rather than satisfy customer demand. Past activities were becoming irrelevant due to changing market demands, such as shorter product life cycle, demand for new products and demand for increased configuration variability. Apple's process is being continuously improved to respond to the changing market.
