Article Abstract:
The Australian Labor party's failure in establishing its image as an efficient economic manager is working in favor of John Howard. Howard will now be able to implement the Industrial relations reforms with the support of labor unions. However, he will be governed by political pragmatism, as his gains from the reforms are likely to fetch him only a three-year term benefit.
