Article Abstract:
Externalities are taken into account as part of an investigation of the issues relating to research and development decisions and the optimal research and development subsidy. The need to be cautious increases as uncertainty rises, technology progresses more slowly, the externality is greater or a damaging event is less likely to arise.

Fuzzy multiple criteria selection of government-sponsored frontier technology R&D projects

The article examines different weights assigned to decision-making criteria by participants in government-sponsored technology innovation projects, using a Taiwanese research institute as an illustration. While government and academic participants emphasize social benefits, researchers are concerned with intellectual property and industry experts are focused on feasibility.

The derivation of R&D return indicators within a real options framework
Article Abstract:
The distinguishing factors of the risk neutral density function implied in the observed share prices within the real option framework stand for a new category of R&D return indicators. An attempt to rework the building blocks of real option applications and to initiate a basket option framework is presented.
