Bob Dole, Phil Gramm, Richard Lugar and other Republican presidential candidates addressed a gathering of 4,000 Christian Coalition members in Washington DC, Sep 8-9, 1995. Gramm vowed to seek a constitutional amendment banning abortions. House Speaker Newt Gingrich also attended the conference.
