One machine you can kick around
Article Abstract:
Panasonic Personal Computer's $2,400, CF-25 MK II is a notebook computer designed to withstand use by the military. The notebook's case is built out of a magnesium alloy in order to survive exposure to dust, water and shock. The computer is able to withstand a two-foot drop onto every edge, corner and face and the touchpad and keyboard are sealed against water. The screen is 800-by-600 pixel dual-scan and has uneven illumination, a disappearing cursor and occasional ghosting. The touchpad requires firm pressing, and works better with a fingernail than a fingertip. A stylus would be a good option to use, especially for users wearing gloves.A CD-ROM is an option available for $360 and the port replicator can also be purchased for $360.

Article Abstract:
