Article Abstract:

Research into the effects interpersonal support and traits have on advancing into management roles from entry level positions is given. The research shows that male hierarchies predicted women's advancing less than men into lower and middle management, whereas career encouragement predicted women's advancing more to upper management.

The influence of Demographic Heterogeneity on the Emergence and Consequences of Cooperative Norms in Work Teams

Research into the effect of demographic heterogeneity on cooperative norms is given. The research studied 10 business units in the financial services industry to find that perceptions of team norms in the groups that were more demographically different change more than those groups that were more demographically alike.
