Arnotts emerges from its blackest hour with a new will to win
Article Abstract:
The 1996-97 financial results of the Australian food company Arnotts were adversely impacted by an extortion attempt. Someone had tried to extort money from the food company by threatening to poison its biscuits sold by supermarkets. Arnots had forecasted sales growth of 1.5% for 1996-97, but the extortion attempt caused a 4% decline in domestic sales to A$563 million.
