The entrepreneurial journey of Melbourne entrepreneur Angel Philip Weiman is illustrated. Weiman made his money by building strong foundations to several businesses in the 1980s and 1990s, including HiSoft Computers, which grew to $225 million in revenue by 1989 when he and his partners sold out and CTS Travel.

Owners of family businesses are starting to court larger companies in their industries in the hope of a trade-sale. In 1997, 42 percent of families running a private family business planned to sell within 10 years and nearly 60 percent of family businesses chief executives wanted to retire within that time.
