Healthcare info. systems
Article Abstract:
The selloff of technology shares in July 1996 and disappointing earnings in the health care information systems industry have created investor concerns, although share prices should appreciate in the future. Greater competition, increased capitated fees, and managed care are all likely to lead to higher health provider spending on information systems. These stocks are suited for aggressive investors, even with consolidation potential and low valuations.

Article Abstract:
The relative valuations for stocks in the healthcare information systems industry contracted during the second half of 1996, and are in line with long-term industry prospects at the beginning of 1997. Healthcare providers are expected to increase expenditures for information systems in spite of industry consolidation. However, investors must show caution when selecting these stocks in light of the performance of some companies in this industry.
