History of the Federation: Where Has It Been, Where Is It Going
Article Abstract:
The idea for the Federation of NCR User Groups first surfaced in August, 1971. This was soon after the first NCR Users Meeting (NUM). One of the first accomplishments of the Federation was the establishment of consolidated communication with NCR. The Software Advisory Committee was formed for this purpose. By 1975 the Federation's user meeting, NUM, was renamed to NUCON (NCR Users Conference) to better identify what the meeting had become. Incorporation of the Federation occurred in 1983. The largest single factor in the Federation's future is user commitment.

The Federation Visits 'the World Down Under'
Article Abstract:
When Dennis Caldwell, past chairman of the Federation of NCR User Groups (FNUG), went to New Zealand and Australia, he found the same problems and concerns as exist in the United States. Of particular concern to users down under were hardware and software reliablility. The users also expressed a desire for software development tools. The recent announcements of the 9300, 9400, and Tower systems were well-received.
