How a family enterprise was saved with a bang rather than a whimper
Article Abstract:
Bang and Olufsen was close to bankruptcy in 1990 due to poor management in the 1980s. The audio equipment manufacturer in Denmark has a new management team and focuses on customer satisfaction rather than technology. It is less expensive to retain current customers than to obtain new ones. The company produces items with concepts to last at least a decade but updates are introduced every three years.
