Article Abstract:
Questionnaire data from a survey of senior intellectual property (IP) executives and in-depth interviews were used to examine IP strategies in 34 industrial corporations. Findings reveal that companies: need IP management at all levels; should involve top-level management in the early stages of IP-planning; and should encourage frequent and informal information exchange.
