How to insure spreadsheet integrity
Article Abstract:
There are several techniques which can prevent costly errors in electronic spreadsheet accuracy. Spreadsheet errors usually arise from imputing incorrect data, applying faulty formulas, using incorrect versions, or using inappropriate templates or applications. A logical spreadsheet development lifecycle includes: determining application feasibility; creating paper models; collecting data; entering spreadsheets; verifying logic; entering application data; reviewing results; and preparing documentation. Spreadsheet auditing programs examine the logic of computations and are another way to search for errors and document worksheet formulas.

Cost accounting internship programs needed
Article Abstract:
There is a major need to update the cost accounting curricula of US business schools. It is recommended that business and academia cooperate more closely in developing courses. A cost accounting internship program could be developed for accounting professors, in which they could both teach in academia and work in the business world. The program could be supported by both sides. Sponsors could include the National Association of Accountants and the American Association for Collegiate Schools of Business.
