IAEA demands nuclear site inspections
Article Abstract:
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Feb 9, 1993, demanded the right to inspect two North Korean sites suspected of housing facilities for the manufacture of plutonium. The North Korean government announced in early February that the inspectors would not be permitted to visit the sites.

Russia to fulfill reactor contract with Iran
Article Abstract:
Russia signified its resolve to push through with its $1-billion contract to build a nuclear plant in Iran for commercial purposes. The US had earlier objected to the deal since it fears that this would equip Iran with the capability to develop nuclear weapons.
