International economic outlook: acceleration in world trade improves prospects for global growth
Article Abstract:
The momentum of globalization was maintained despite a slower global economic growth and tensions in international trade relations driven by high unemployment rates. World trade export of goods and services increased by 70 percent from 1994 to 2003 and the long-term growth rate in global trade averaged 10.5 percent a year, outpacing the growth of worldwide real Gross Domestic Product.
