The Australian Consumers' Association and the Australian Securities Commission are coordinating a program to evaluate financial planners. The two groups send undercover volunteers to planners, who ask to have a plan worked up. The volunteers then submit the plan to a panel, where it is reviewed for effectiveness and the use of sound investment principles.
