Even though the number of golfers is going up, inventories of clubs are also going up while prices have to come down in order to be competitive. The country's three largest club manufacturers have laid off employees and two small firms have filed bankruptcy. And if the United States Golf Association adopts a regulation that bans a Callaway club, Ely Callaway says he will sue.

Nippon Life sells big hotel in Los Angeles
Article Abstract:
What used to be referred to as the Western White House, the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower, has been sold by the Nippon Life Insurance Co. of Japan. A group of private investors are said to be paying $260 million for the Los Angeles hotel that used to be a favorite place of Ronald Reagan. The facility has been undergoing extensive renovation.
