A no-confidence vote on Jun 18, 1993, in the lower house of Japan's parliament led to the elimination of the government of Premier Kiichi Miyazawa after 39 members of the LDP joined in the vote against him. New elections for the Diet's lower house are scheduled for Jul 18, 1993.
