Knowledge acquisition from multiple experts: an empirical study
Article Abstract:
A study examined knowledge acquisition of the probability estimates used in decision support systems. In particular, it empirically analyzes the quality of probability knowledge obtained from individuals and groups. Knowledge acquisition of the fundamental probabilities is relevant since they ultimately direct users to specific solutions. Analysis of the probabilities facilitated the assessment of subjects to explain Bayes' theorem reversals. Findings revealed that knowledge acquisition provided by groups offered more accurate orderings to the probabilities than knowledge acquisition given by individuals. Therefore, knowledge acquisition from groups has a higher likelihood of generating the right probability knowledge.

Computer support of groups: theory-based models for GDSS research
Article Abstract:
Computer-based systems for group support in face-to-face meetings are designed to maximize the use of information in meetings and to avoid breakdowns in the communication process. There is a perceived need for theoretical models that integrate available information on group decision support systems (GDSS) so that practitioners may be guided in creating and implementing successful organizational group systems. Contingency models for research on GDSS are presented.
