MIM rides the tide of change
Article Abstract:
The turnaround at MIM's Collinsville coal mine epitomizes the company's turnaround under chief executive Nick Stump. When he joined MIM, the mine produced about 6,000 tons per worker-year, well below the 10,000 ton average for all Queensland, Australia, mines. The company has since far exceeded the 12,000-ton goal that he set for the Collinsville mine. An overview of MIM's operations and situation is presented.

MIM slimmer and trimmer, now for some muscle tone
Article Abstract:
In the 1980s, MIM Holdings Ltd. made many misdirected investments, hurting profits considerably. Now, at the end of the 1990s, the company, with the help of chief executive, Nick Stump, has recovered and is back on track. Stump, however, does not want to rush and is making all expansion efforts very slowly and carefully with a major focus on consistency.
