Machinery industry
Article Abstract:
Security advisers are predicting the machinery industry to have strong financial performance in 1996 although there is difficulty in comparing profits and sales performance figures with 1995 results. Improvements in the domestic market in the last three months should boost the industry. Internationally, the Latin American market is risky but offers the greatest financial possibilities; the Pacific Rim area provides the best possibilities for expansion and the European market appears to have reached its lowest point and could be important to the industry.

Article Abstract:
The strong sales and earnings growth rates for the machinery industry in 1994 and early 1995 are expected to slow later in 1995 and 1996. Cost reduction, increased efficiency, foreign expansion, diversification, and product development are expected in this industry. Western European markets are also showing more potential. Companies with new products, efficient operations, and market advantage will perform well.
