Malcontent Managers - Will They Retard the Recovery?
Article Abstract:
A management survey was performed which included responses from over six hundred managers. The managers surveyed held the rank below chief executive officer or chief operating officer. The results of the survey reflect the feelings of instability among managers today. As a result of manager's instability, they no longer expect to stay with one company, but move as soon as an opportunity crosses their path. The results of this management survey are presented.

Corporate strategy must provide organizations with flexibility and creativity. Planning is being abandoned to address values, vision, and corporate mission. Strategic management can bring about successful corporate strategy. Some companies are decreasing the weight of their planning departments. Under strategic management the manager must recognize his position within the entire organizational structure. Values must be integrated into corporate operations.
