Managerial discretion and corporate commitment to the natural environment
Article Abstract:
The possible associations between executive discretion and corporate environmental commitment are considered to develop competing hypotheses from two alternative approaches, namely, the managerial view and the inertial view. The results show that firms in which one or more individuals are specifically responsible for environmental matters achieve better environmental commitment than other organizations in which no one bears this responsibility.
