Metal fabricating industry
Article Abstract:
The strong US economy continues to have a beneficial effect on the metal fabricating industry in 1999, but economic conditions are more mixed globally. Demand appears to be healthy for most sectors of the industry, but prospects for the long-term beyond 1999 are more difficult to project due to the cyclical nature of the industry. Several stocks in this industry, such as Illinois Tool Works Inc, appear to be attractive, but there are better opportunities outside of this sector for most investors.

Healthcare info. systems
Article Abstract:
Stock prices for the healthcare information systems industry were mixed at the end of the 4th qtr of 1998, but many investors were able to take advantage of the buying opportunities during that period. The long-term prospects for this industry remain compelling, however, but there is some risk involved, as well. Several of these stocks offer above-average returns for investors through the years 2001-2003.

Metal fabricating industry
Article Abstract:
The metal fabricating industry faces favorable business conditions, but investors are cautioned that some companies may not have strong near-term prospects. A continued economic expansion and demand from the aerospace, automobile, and housing markets should enable some of these companies to achieve solid prospects by the 2002 to 2004 period.
