Metal fabricating industry
Article Abstract:
Economic conditions in the US that affect the metal fabricating industry were good in 1998 and are expected to remain so in 1999, but the global economy may be less robust. Demand for some metal products remains good, especially in the jetliner industry, but the cyclical nature of the metal industry makes it difficult to forecast results beyond 1999. There are several appealing stocks in this industry for investors, but the growth rate is expected to moderate.

Metal fabricating industry
Article Abstract:
Economic conditions for the metal industries are still fragile in 1995, but several stocks are attractive for the 1998-2000 term. The slight domestic economic decline forecast for 1995 will hurt, rather than help, these companies. Stocks issues in this industry are defensive and cyclically oriented, and individuals need to evaluate the economy for the remainder of the 1990s before investing.

Article Abstract:
Metal fabricators are benefiting from an improved economy, but some are still weak and are likely to be affected by rising interest rates. The industry ranks in the upper third of Value Line's Timeliness ratings, but several companies have low Price Stability ratings. Bright spots are farm, highway construction and oil-well drilling equipment.
